Official Opening of Al-Irfan Mosque in Muscat Attended by the Omani Minister of Endowments; Unveiling the Masterpiece of Iranian Wall-to-Wall Carpet
In a grand ceremony that bridged modern architecture with authentic Iranian art, the Al Irfan Grand Mosque in the Bowsher district of Muscat was officially inaugurated. The event was attended by high-ranking officials of the Sultanate of Oman and diplomats from the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which the exquisite wall-to-wall carpet of the mosque, designed, produced, and installed by Iranian artists, was unveiled.
Presence of Diplomatic Officials at the Opening Ceremony
The ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, highlighting the significance of this project in the Omani capital. Furthermore, in line with the cultural and artistic diplomacy between the two nations, H.E. Musa Farhang, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Oman, and Mr. Seyed Mohammad Zolfaghari, the Cultural Attaché of Iran, were among the distinguished guests at the event.
Presence of Senior Executives of Aladdin & Eslimi (A&E) Group
A key highlight of the ceremony was the presence of the executives and creators of this magnificent project alongside government officials. Eng. Mohammad Saeidpour, CEO of the Eslimi Carpet Group, accompanied by Eng. Koosha Karami, the company’s official representative in Oman, attended the opening ceremony as the creators of this artistic masterpiece. Their presence provided an opportunity to directly explain the technical and artistic details of this custom carpet and its precise execution under the Aladdin & Eslimi (A&E) brand to the Minister of Endowments and his delegation.

Iranian Carpet; The Shining Jewel of Al Irfan Architecture
What captivated officials and visitors most during the opening was the juxtaposition of the mosque’s modern, minimal architecture with its luxurious mosque carpet. The main challenge in this project was covering the entire surface, characterized by a unique geometric shape and numerous columns. This was executed to perfection using the wall-to-wall carpet technique under the direct supervision of the Aladdin & Eslimi (A&E) engineering team. The use of Arabesque (Islimi) and Khatai motifs on a background of soft colors has created a spiritual and serene atmosphere for worshipers.
The Intersection of Tradition and Modernity with Iranian Art
Al Irfan Mosque, with its stone façade and engineered lighting, is a symbol of modern Omani architecture. However, the selection of a large-scale unique carpet with traditional Iranian patterns for the interior demonstrates the designers’ wisdom in breathing the spirit of spirituality and authenticity into a modern body. The successful execution of this project by the Aladdin & Eslimi (A&E) Group once again proved the capability of Iranian engineers and artists in exporting artistic and engineering services to the region.
